Memorial Arch Bookend

The iconic memorial archway is located in the Thomas Jefferson Building. These bookends feature the arch and Olin L. Warner’s depiction of young and old students in the spandrels. A frieze inscribed with the words Library of Congress is flanked by columns and crowned with bald eagle sculptures. The arch is a gateway to galleries located on the second floor.
