Bacon Beacons is known for being home to Forest Fawr Geopark, which surrounds Penderyn, and was recognised by UNESCO to exhibit \"geological heritage of great significance”. Penderyn produce \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003emerely 1 barrel of Wysgi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cem\u003e(Welsh for Whisky)\u003c\/em\u003e using their single copper still per day. All of their malts are matured first in hand-selected \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eBourbon barrels\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, and then further matured in \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003especial Madeira\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e barriques. In the decade since the founding Penderyn has won critical acclaim from various competitions and people in the Spirits business, and have built a following of thirsty Whisky-heads looking for that \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eX-factor\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e in Whisky.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n \u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ePenderyn Madeira Finish\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e acts as the flagship and core expression of the Penderyn Distillery. It’s producing using a pot still created by \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eDr. David Faraday\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, descendent of the ground-breaking Victorian scientist, Michael Faraday. The Spirit is aged in ex-Bourbon casks from the Buffalo Trace Distillery, followed by a six-month finishing maturation in \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eMadeira wine\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e casks. This final maturation is crucial for the Whisky to have a round, \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003emulti-layered\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, and nuanced flavour profile.
