In fact, they are rated as one of the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003etop ten small-batch \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003edistilleries in the US.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\nYou can’t call \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKoval Four Grain\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e a Bourbon. That’s because it has \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eno corn at all\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e in the mash bill. It’s made of \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eoat, malted barley, rye, and wheat.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e They are also very particular about the barrels they use. These barrels are not just\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e heavy-charred American White oak\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. They’re a very particular kind of oak called Minnesota Oak, adn they like it because it has a tighter grain pattern that adds a unique spice to the final dram. The net result is a very smooth Whiskey that has a unique and distinct banana essence.
